We made Ice cream

In room 4 we have been learning about emulsions and since ice cream is the worlds most popular emulsion is ice cream we got to make ice cream! We were in groups of four and we had a competition for the best ice cream and my group won, in ours we put Oreos, sprinkles and chocolate chips. Some even said it tasted better than store bought ice cream. It's really fun and easy to do and the recipe is there so you should try it.

We're back from Camp! We had so much fun in raglan over the three days we were there. We were all in groups an did 7 activities. There was Rock Climbing, Flying Fox, BMX Biking, Archery, Low Ropes, Confidence Course and Air Rifles. On the first night we had a campfire and did a burma trail in the forest, the second night we had a concert where we had to come up with an item and perform it in front of everybody, later we played spotlight. Every body enjoyed it heaps.

We made Soap!

Yesterday a lady called Shannon came in to teach us how to make soap for our craft market. At first we were going to make it the dangerous way with a ll the ingredients from scratch and if you put the ingredients in the wrong way around it explodes. So Shannon taught us how to make soap the safe way. We made chocolate scented soap and it was purple. When we took it out of the mold everyone was so excited because it was really shiny and it smelled amazing.

Buy our Cookbook

In Room 4 we have made a cookbook for our topic and to fundraise for our camp at the end of the year. We each had a favourite recipe that we typed up and shared to Mrs P. It took us a long time to edit and publish it. We had to work out all the costings to see what price we had to sell them for to make a worthwhile profit. The Cookbook is selling for $13.95 discount price. It has over 25 recipes and there is Tasty treats, Delicious drinks, Lavish lunches and Satisfying sweets. There is also a contents page, Authors page, index and vocabulary page. PLEASE HELP US FUNDRAISE!

I named them Bob and Eve. Anyways I hope you enjoy, and please comment and we'll be sure to reply. Anyways...............ENJOY!!!

Then questions come up on screen and the players have to press the correct shape or colour. There is a leader board so it usually gets pretty competitive and it is lots of fun.

Play dough

In room 4 we made play dough for our stop motion videos for topic. First we had to watch a video with recipe. Then we had to make a slide presentation with the ingredients and method in our own words. We then had to find the prices on the countdown website and figure out how much it would cost to make play dough. After that we put the method into our own words, and finally we got to make play dough according to the presentation we made. Enjoy the movie.

We have been learning to use google maps, in maths. Google information gives us the time it would take with all different kinds of transport, the directions or route, it gives you street views, the fastest time and it does the same thing for the rest of the world. I have an activity for you to do at the end, it will be lots of fun. I would love lots of feed back. Amie
