Cyclone Winston

We have been learning about Cyclone Winston because we had a mufti day last Friday. This is what we learnt about Cyclone Winston. Fariha & Biqi

    I think you are right, the cyclone in Fiji was terrible. It is very sad when people lose their homes. Do you know how they go about giving names to Cyclones? That would be interesting information to find out. We are very lucky in NZ that we only got the end of Cyclone Winston, which meant big swells in our seas and some heavy rain and wind in some parts of NZ.

      The Australian and south pacific region started giving names to cyclones named after women in 1974/1975.
