Grandparents Day 2018

Last Friday we had our Grandparents afternoon and this is the one photo we took of our Jump Jam group that performed for our Grandparents.
They did an outstanding job.
Grandparents Afternoon is a day where all the students invite their grandparents to watch children perform, and enjoy their selves, the performances included Pasifika ( Pasifika is a group that performs Pasific dances while representing their culture., Jump Jam- the picture above ( is a fun groovy dance group that performs fun dances to entertain us, Music Group ( A group that performs songs very well, using Ukuleles, tambourines, drums, and their singing voices. And our Kapa Haka Group( performing Maori dances and haka's)
There was also afternoon tea for our grandparents to enjoy with homemade food from our students and families ( they were delicious) I'm sure the Grandparents loved them

We all enjoyed having our Grandparents visit our School,
-Ruby

  1. Kia ora Room 4,
I bet your Grandparents LOVE coming to see you at school and see you and all of your classmates perform. It sounds like you have some very talented learners who get involved in so many things. I imagine they loved your homemade food too. I love going to visit my Nana - she turned 90 a few weeks ago! My Nana was very famous for her great scones and pikelets but now she lives in a retirement village and doesn't make them anymore - I miss eating them! Do your grandparents have special things that they are good at baking/making? Make sure you get them to teach you how too.
    Ngā mihi

  3. Aloha Room 4! My name is Shabeera from Waikowhai Primary School. The blog you posted about Grandparents day is awesome. Your jump jam group who performed a pasifika dance reminded me of our Gala day last year. I think that the Grandparents had a great time. Maybe next time you could add what your favourite part of the day was. I think if I was there, my favourite part would have been eating the homemade food. 5. Talofa, my name is Dazharn. I am a year six at Waikowhai Primary School.I like the way you explained what grandparents day was and it had different cultures and jump jam. The one thing you could change was when you were writing your explanation about what the groups were, you used the same thing three times when you wrote about the groups. This reminds me of last year when we had a celebration day it had different types of dances the groups that I was in was kapa haka and Samoan group. blog you later if you want to find out more about our celebration day go check out my blog at http://wpsdazharnr.blogspot.come
